This is a blend of 2 different coffees from Ethiopia and Guatemala. We use the Socrates Espresso for all the espresso-based drinks at our boutique specialty coffee shop. If you love coffees that are balanced with chocolatey notes then Socrates Espresso is for you.

Mambo #5 comes from the Cuzcatleco varietal, created in El Salvador about 10 years ago to combat leaf rust. Mauricio found that if planted at high altitudes, this type of coffee created an outstanding cup. The name Mambo was given by an Australian visitor. We think the name suits the coffee, it’s as lively as a coffee can be.

Our current Decaf offering is from a three year relationship with Vunga Co-operative. The team at Vunga is led by women and has 260 active members who contribute. The operation is not of huge scale, but the quality is remarkable, and has been recognized a handful of times with a placement as high as 4th in Cup of Excellence Rwanda.
